An Aisle Of Beauty For Your First Walk

One of the first aspects of your wedding decor that you, as a bride, will see is your wedding aisle. What will your aisle decor say about you? Does it prepare your guests for what’s to come for the rest of your event?

Your aisle decor is one of the aspects that will set the tone for your wedding ceremony. When your guests get the first glimpse of you walking down the aisle, the ambience created by the details of your decor should make you look stunning, amazing and drop dead gorgeous.

Will you choose to keep your decor light, airy and fun? Are you going to incorporate floral that compliments the rest of the floral throughout your event? Have you decided on a rustic theme with tree rounds and lanterns? What about something extremely dramatic…who says that your aisle has to be straight and traditional?

Do you want to direct your guests eyes to the height of the chairs? Are you wanting to bring attention to the ground with an unique runner or floral arrangements at a lower level? What about lighting…is that something you would be willing to incorporate?

The possibilities for aisle decor are endless. Don’t get lost trying to stick to something traditional. Think outside the box and do something amazing, unique and wonderful!

Peach & Mint Green – Putting Together Amazing Color Palettes!

So you’re planning a wedding? It’s something that you’ve thought about since you were a little girl. You decided long ago what your colors would be, what your dress would look like and where you would go on your honeymoon. Just because you thought about those things when you were 8 years old doesn’t mean that you can’t use those same ideas now, right? Wrong!

Ten to twelve years ago, when you were probably about 8 years old, the “hip” wedding colors were light pink and blue or peach and mint green. But who’s saying that you can’t still use those same colors? You just have to spice it up a little bit and incorporate some of the popular, trendy colors from today.

Today’s post is all about finding that creativity and putting it all together into something that will leave your wedding guests stunned. Let’s start out by assuming that you have always dreamed of having peach and mint green incorporated into your wedding colors. Where do you start looking for ideas? I’m going to let you in on a little secret of mine. There are two websites that I frequently visit for color inspiration.

1.  If you have a specific color that you like and you’re looking for other colors that will compliment it well. Look no further than a fun little website called Design Seeds. They have this wonderful tool called a palette search.  You can put in that color that you’ve been dreaming of and it will compile a list of inspirational colors to compliment it. Try it out…click on the link HERE!

2.  My other favorite website for color inspiration is The Perfect Palette. There are so many useful tools on this website that you will just have to check it out for yourself. Once again, so many color inspirations…and the best part is that they will give you pictures to go along with the color palette that you have selected. You can access that website HERE.

Now it’s confession time…the reason that I chose the color combo of peach and mint green is because that’s what I had always intended to have at my own wedding. But, somewhere along the lines I got sidetracked and ventured away from the wedding colors of the early 1990′s. I am guilty of spending way too much time looking for ideas that I would possibly use if I ever had a wedding re-do. Trust me….This Will Never Happen! So, in the meantime, you get the benefit!

In my search for a modern, beautiful peach and mint green wedding I found some amazing ideas. First of all, I came up with this color palette:

With the addition of a few other colors I was able to find inspiration that was amazing. How I found the inspiration is for another post but, I’m sure that most of you know of several ways to search for ideas. The best way…take your ideas to your wedding planner and let her search. After all, that’s what you’re paying for!

I always like to begin my searches with inspiration from floral arrangements. Flowers have the potential to bring an enormous amount of color and texture to your event.

These floral arrangements are some of my very favorite. I love the roses, tulips, hydrangeas and little accent flowers throughout. I am also in love with the fact that the bridal bouquet and boutonnieres were created using botanicals and not just your typical floral.

Other images that often catch my eye are those that contain different textures. Whether those textures come from ruffles, ribbons, lace or paper, it’s all the same and will surely catch the eye of your guests too. Don’t be afraid to go outside the box. That’s what is going to make your wedding memorable and unique.

After spending some time with my love affair, “peach” and “mint green”, I’m thinking that somebody could have an amazingly gorgeous wedding using this color palette. What are your thoughts? Anyone willing to jump into this one?

Feature Friday: Real Weddings

It’s not hard to connect the dots on how much fun this polka dot summer time wedding was. The bride and grooms number one priority of the night was to have fun and dance the night away, and they did just that.  The bride is from Southern Utah while her Groom is from Germany. They met through their family and a long distance romance began.

The overall theme of the wedding was red, black and white with lots of polka dots. The bride is so sweet and bubbly, so the wedding needed to shine with her personality. Sweet, fun and glowing. Her favorite flower is a Gerbera Daisy, so the white daisy with a black polka dot center in the middle gave the perfect accent to her centerpieces.

A fun backdrop to the wedding was the polka dot dessert bar. There were cupcakes, rice krispie treats and little polka dot treat bags for guests to take away their favorite red candies.

The light canopy gave such a soft light as the night came, making it so the party didn’t have to stop.
