I love that you "strongly recommend meeting with vendors". I feel like this is a MANDATORY experience that the vendor must have as well. As a cinematographer it can be easy to "go through the motions" at often shot locations (like an LDS Temples), knowing where and what the best shots are. But when I get to know my clients, and they know me, I am able to gleam from them little variations that they unknowingly let off.
